Hi there! My name is Sam Justin, and I am a die-hard karaoke fan. My love for karaoke first started when I received a cheap karaoke machine for my tenth birthday. I didn’t ask for it or even have a desire to own a karaoke machine, but I have an aunt who always buys the best presents and she must have known how much fun I would have with it. My two sisters and I would play on that machine for hours at a time, and you could often hear gales of laughter exploding from the basement where we were singing. Not only did we sing our favorite songs, but we also made up hilarious (well, we thought they were funny) talk shows and radio programs. That was where it all started.
As an adult, I started to go to karaoke bars and clubs with my friends where we would have a great time singing and hanging out. I found that this was one of my favorite ways to spend time with my friends, and we would end up doing this most weekends. It was a way to unwind and have fun. And it was nice to do something different – the regular old bar scene had gotten a little old for me.
I realize that not everyone is a karaoke fan. Some think it’s corny. Some think it’s silly. Some think it’s ridiculous. But that’s just it – it’s all of those things, and that’s what makes it so awesome. When I’m singing karaoke, I get to be a rock star for 3 minutes (give or take.) And regardless of how well you sing, you have a captive audience for those few minutes. Do you ever ride in your car and belt out your favorite songs at the top of your lungs while imagining a crowd of people cheering and applauding for you? At a karaoke bar, you get to do that for real! By day, you could be a collared-shirt-wearing accountant, but by night you can be David Bowie, Mick Jagger, or Katy Perry.
You know what else I love about karaoke? People are so happy. Think about it. Have you ever seen someone look depressed while doing karaoke? I think it’s pretty much impossible. Generally, people who do karaoke are happy, carefree, and looking to have a great time.
Something else I love about karaoke – you don’t have to go to a crowded bar to do it. If you own a karaoke machine, you can have karaoke parties at your own house with your own group of friends. A lot of people are too intimidated to perform in front of a hundred strangers, but most people wouldn’t mind doing a song in front of 15 of their closest friends.
So, hopefully I’ve been able to explain why I love karaoke so much. If you’re already a karaoke lover, then you get it. If not…well, maybe I’ve been able to sell you on it a little bit, or at the very least pick your interest. All I can say is, don’t knock it ‘til you try it. If you’ve never done it before, get some friends together and give it a try.
Thanks so much for visiting my site and please come again!
